Unify for Victory!

Are you consumed with what is wrong as opposed to what you want to see happen? When you change your focus from what is wrong, to what you want to see happen, you begin to have a positive influence in your own life and the lives of others.

First you must stop dividing and judging other’s businesses, classes, clothes, music, etc. STOP! That is not constructive. The secret to overcoming obstacles and harnessing the power of corporate agreement is to Unify your mind and common desire into a single focus with those around you. It is time for us to Quit dividing and start Unifying.

Don't be Divided and Conquered
The enemy's best battle plan is to “divide and conquer”. He has used this battle technique before, so be wise to his advances. Just when you seem to be getting somewhere on your program, the enemy sends a spy into the camp to create dissention in the ranks and take your mind away from the battle. From the stress of life, to the kids or errands, you must be strong in our resolve to not let anything take your mind off the prize.

This week, find two or three that you can come into agreement on who will uphold you in your goals and dreams and touch and agree for their accomplishment.

Weekly Fit Tip

TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE

Stress management requires that you take complete control over the activities of your daily life. This means that you plan your day, set priorities and work on high-value tasks. The indispensable key to time management is concentration, the ability to focus single-mindedly on one thing, the most important thing, and to stay with it until it is 100 percent complete.

CONCENTRATE SINGLE-MINDEDLY
This is not only the hardest challenge that a manager faces, but the ability to concentrate single-mindedly is probably the rarest single ability in the workplace. Most of our important tasks take large chunks of time. We need to plan and organize our days in such a way that we allocate these chunks of time so that we can do the jobs upon which our success depends.

UNLOCK ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM
The wonderful thing about setting priorities and concentrating single-mindedly is that, the very minute that you do these two things, you will begin to feel a tremendous sense of control and well-being. As you work progressively toward the accomplishment of your most important tasks, you will feel a flow of energy and enthusiasm. As you finish something that is relevant and significant to your company and to yourself, you get a burst of energy. Your self-esteem improves. You feel good about yourself. You have a wonderful sense of making measurable progress toward greater success in your career. You feel like you are making a difference.

AVOID STRESS-INDUCING ACTIVITIES
On the other hand, working on small tasks or low-priority items simply causes you to feel more and more stress. Even if you finish a dozen or a hundred of these minor and irrelevant low-value tasks, you get no feeling of satisfaction or accomplishment.

ACTION EXERCISES
Here are two ideas you can use immediately to concentrate single-mindedly on the highest-value use of your time:

First, analyze your work before you begin and then ask yourself, “What one thing, if I did it quickly and well, would have the greatest impact on my work?” Whatever it is, go to work on that one item immediately.

Second, once you have begun a high-value task, discipline yourself by repeating over and over, “Back to work, back to work, back to work!” This will keep you focused and on track until you finish the job.

Healthy Recipe

Healthy Pineapple Poppy-Seed Bread

Makes
: One loaf

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup whey protein powder
  • 1/3 cup sugar substitute
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 can crushed pineapple in juice
  • 1/3 cup skim milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons poppy seeds

Directions:

  • Mix flour, sugar sub, whey protein, baking powder, and baking soda in a large bowl. Add the pineapple, (including the juice), milk and extracts. Stir until dry ingredients are moistened. Add poppy seeds.

  • Lightly coat an 8-x-4-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray (nonfat). Spread batter evenly in pan, and bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes.

  • Remove bread from oven, and let sit for 10-15 minutes. Let bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.

  • Serving size: 1 slice

  • Fat: 1 g
  • Cholesterol: 0 mg
  • Protein: 10 g
  • Carbohydrates: 17 g
  • Fiber: 2 g
  • Sodium: 105 mg
