The Path to Cleansing

The path to cleansing begins with forgiveness. True peace comes after true forgiveness. Forgive yourself for things you have done that you feel guilty about and forgive others for their wrong doing.

Forgiveness is difficult for some people because they feel as if the person or persons that violated them is some way, real or imagined, is getting away with something without sufficient punishment. In essence, for you, the forgiver, it’s the opposite.

Forgiveness is liberating. Forgiveness frees up space in your heart. The space that is filled with deep dark, evil, angry, cold, depressed and grim emotions will become available.

Forgiveness is for you, the person whose carrying the pain. Release it, let it go. And you must know that you have the freedom to not have a relationship with the person again.
This is important to understand. I thought that if I forgave someone I would have to be their personal friend and have lunch with them and hang out.

This is not true. It means that I released this person of their control over me. They did what they knew at the You can forgive and never speak to the person again. You don’t have to physically embrace the person you forgive. In your heart you can not be forgiven if you don’t forgive.

You forgive because it’s the right thing to do. It’s one of the greatest tools of self healing there is. You forgive others so that you can heal. Forgiveness heals your heart and cleanses your soul of pain from the past. That’s why they call it the past. It’s over. You never have to let the past steal your future ever again. Right now, in your mind, Forgive anyone who hurt you and move on! You Can Do It!

Weekly Fit Tip

Listen to Your Body, Experiment, and Customize to You

As with exercise, you should continually experiment to discover what works best for you. Creating the right diet plan for you should be a process of trial and error – and ongoing experimentation with portion sizes, food combinations, eating at different times of the day, etc. This will take time and practice on your part. Prepare to be flexible and willing to learn from and improve on your mistakes. Every time you experiment with an open mind, you have an excellent opportunity to learn and improve. Take advantage of this!

Many diet plans tell you what to eat, how much to eat, and when to eat it. This does not teach you how to attend to your own cravings, desires, or hunger. This teaches you nothing about living and feeling healthier and happier. Everyone has different strengths, weaknesses, and eating patterns. You will only become successful when you learn to respond to your own feelings and not to what someone else says is right for you. It is critical that you learn how to be aware of and attend to both feelings of hunger and fullness, and learn what will satisfy you both physically and psychologically.

Your own body, not someone else's routine, is the very best guide for how much you need to eat. Try to get in the habit of tuning in to your internal cues of hunger, and not just eating the amount of food you think you should, or tuning in to external cues like the sight or smell of food. It's okay to eat any amount of food to feel both physically and psychologically satisfied. But you must learn to stop when you feel comfortably full, not stuffed.

Healthy Recipe

Rice Pancakes

Makes
: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked brown rice
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup fat-free egg substitute or 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup nonfat milk
  • 1/4 cup peas
  • 1/4 cup corn
  • 1/4 cup green peppers, diced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped

Directions:

  • Cook brown rice according to the package directions and allow to cool.
  • Blend together the whole wheat flour, egg substitute or egg whites, and milk until smooth. Add the rice, peas, corn, green peppers, green onions, and parsley. Stir to mix well.
  • Coat a pan with nonstick cooking spray (nonfat), pour 1/4 cup batter onto pan. Cook over medium heat until golden brown.
  • Flip and repeat. Serve with plumb or sweet and sour sauce.

  • Serving size: 3 pancakes
  • Calories: 170
  • Fat: 1 g
  • Cholesterol: 1 mg
  • Protein: 12 g
  • Carbohydrates: 26 g
