For A Tight and Firm Rear End

Victoria,
What can I do to tone my butt and thighs? I'm so frustrated. My legs are pretty muscular, but there's a layer of dimply fat like cellulite on my butt and especially the outer thighs that I can't get rid of?  I have been dieting but I am tired of always feeling hungry and counting calories.  What can I do?

Sounds like a Low-Carb, High Energy Diet may the perfect solution for you.

Low Carb / High Energy is a healthy and fantastic way to lose weight. This means it’s time to put away the pound cake, dance right past those donuts at work and definitely forget those fat building biggie fries that make dimply thighs too.

In general, on a low-carb diet it is not necessary to count calories. You can eat all you want, as often as you want, in order to prevent hunger. Don't stuff yourself, just eat until you're no longer hungry. Remember, there is a difference between being hungry and having an appetite. Hunger means your body needs more food, so you need to eat. Having an appetite means you have the feeling that you want to eat, whether your body needs more food or not.

In some cases, for those who are metabolically resistant, reducing total food intake may help to stimulate or maintain weight loss. But it's the carbs, not the total calories that are preventing you from losing fat and those carbs have to be controlled. Sally, some foods that you thought were healthy actually turn to fat so fast, it will make your waist expand before your very eyes.  You have to find out exactly what those foods are.  You do not want to waste hours in the gym and not see any changes. When you enter into the low-carb lifestyle you will find that you have more energy, you will lose stored dimply body fat and because you are consuming low Glycemic (sugar) foods and eating healthy oils, your appetite will stay under control. Eating a healthy level of the proper proteins and high fiber vegetables, which have very low calories, actually causes you to lose weight faster than if you were fasting!

During a fast, your body thinks it is starving, so it kicks into a very high efficiency state of metabolism. This slows down weight loss. But with a high fat diet, combined with very low amounts of carbohydrates, your body will know that it is not starving, and your metabolism will maintained a normal level.

Although consuming fats is necessary for a healthy diet, try to limit consumption of trans-fats (margarine and shortening). Plus, when you eat good fats including olive oil, flax seed oil, canola oil your appetite comes into control.

Avoid the polyunsaturated fats (read labels) when possible, except for those containing the essential omega-3 fatty acids contained in fish.

Green is Good

As you rework your lifestyle to make it more fat burning friendly by eating more vegetables throughout the entire day. Fresh veggies are crunchy, they keep your mouth busy and are good for you. They have a high water and fiber content, which helps to flush out your system and get rid of the fatty deposits that may be bunching under your skin.

You’ll flood your system with healthy nutrients, displacing the urge to snack on fatty food items. Green vegetables, especially in large quantities, are great for your digestive system and increase your body’s metabolic rate.  Greens are also great for reducing cellulite buildup on top of the muscles. Losing Those Lady Lumps (cellulite dimples)

Because you are a thicker person with muscular legs, it’s going to take a total program for you to lose the dimply cellulite on your butt and thighs. Eliminating Cellulite takes more than just simple massage, or some “perfumey” cream.

Massaging alone will not remove cellulite and creams only condition the skin on the surface. To get rid of cellulite, you need to attack it holistically with a multi faceted approach to develop beautiful dimple free curves. You are going to need a system that takes a comprehensive approach.

Sally, Don’t Wait! Start cutting out the fat building carbs immediately and use these tips to help you be disciplined and focused on your goal.

Plan ahead - Pack your snacks and meals in advance whenever necessary.  Don’t let your appetite get out of control because you did not prepare healthy fat burning snacks and put them in your car, by your work station or in your gym bag.

Drink a glass of water - If you haven’t got time to eat and want to resist snacks totally then drink a glass of water to help fill your stomach and keep your hunger at bay.

Sugar free gum - Chewing gum tends to stop you from nibbling bits of food while you’re doing tasks. Chew with dignity please

Stock up - Keep flavored calorie free water in your fridge. When you want something sweet and tasty, have a big cool pretty bottle of a fruity drink.  I put mine over ice in a crystal glass so that I feel like a princess. This helps me feel satisfied and special.

Out of sight, out of mind - Remove temptation out of your home and away from your work station. Get rid of all sugary snacks. Take them to work, give them to your neighbors, food bank, etc.  Other members of your family may want them, but they are not healthy for anyone.

Be ruthless - Don’t grab a handful of anything that will hinder your progress.

Don’t waste calories -. During a meal or buffet only eat the things you really need that will help you lose weight and de-dimple your thighs.  Make your plate look fuller by piling the veggies real high.

Stay Strong -Write your goals and objectives down for the week.  When you write out your goals you have a clear plan and a track to follow. Be determined to do whatever it takes to lose the weight and build your best body ever.

Victoria’s Quick Start Energy Program is absolutely phenomenal!

Before I went on Victoria’s Quick Start Energy Program I was a mess. At the time I was teaching my own fitness classes while trying to recover from knee surgery. I was carrying 30 plus extra pounds around as a result of the injury and I was desperate to get it off but it felt like a losing battle. I was constantly having to sit with my legs elevated and I could feel the pounds adding up. I couldn’t even walk fast let alone run. I had to modify many moves for myself so I could still teach class. Healthy Recipe

Broccoli Cheese Muffins

Makes: 16 servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon Splenda
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups nonfat buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup fat-free egg substitute or 6 egg whites, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/4 cup broccoli, chopped
  • 1 cup non/lowfat grated cheese
  • 3/4 cup onions, chopped

Directions:

  • Combine cornmeal, Splenda, baking powder, and baking soda in a bowl, and stir well. Add the buttermilk and egg substitute or egg whites, and stir until dry ingredients are moistened. Fold in the broccoli, onions, and cheese.
  • Coat muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray (nonfat), and fill 3/4 full with the batter. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-18 minutes.
  • Allow muffins to sit for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Serving size: 1 muffin
  • Calories: 90
  • Fat: 1 g
  • Cholesterol: 4 mg
  • Protein: 7 g
  • Carbs: 15 g
  • Fiber: 2 g
  • Sodium: 200 mg
