Jump Start Your Fat Burning For A Hotlicious Beach Body!


Victoria,
My wedding is less than thirty days away and my beautiful dress it still tight. I have been so stressed that I carelessly let my diet go and I don’t have money left to hire a trainer.

I am desperate for my gown to fit perfect plus I want to have a hot beach body for my honeymoon.

I am 5’4” tall and I weigh 140 pounds. I want to lose five to eight good fat pounds. Can you please give me some quick tips to help me jump start my metabolism and lose the weight I gained from stress.

Hi Dahlia, Congratulations on your next journey in life! Your desperation and panic sounds familiar. The last bride I trained sounded like your twin sister.

She came to me and wanted me to help her get ready for her wedding. She wanted to lose twenty pounds fast. Her father said he would pay me any price I asked just to help her calm down and stop text messaging him every twenty minutes about her latest crisis.

Great. So I did! I charged him a fortune because once we met and she started following my plan, she text messaging ME every twenty minutes. AAAHHH!!

In all fairness, she was not hard to manage, just hard to relax and stop being a control freak. Working with her became a fantastic case study. She progressed quickly. I helped her transfer her nervous energy about the wedding into positive fuel for fat burning workouts.

I met with her fiancé to help them design a plan that they could follow for during the honeymoon and after they returned so that she would develop a lifestyle that would compliment her new beach body.

When I met him, I expected him to be like her. What a shock. I could see why she wanted to marry him. He was warm, kind, gentle, laid back and thought she was the most adorable woman he had ever met. He told me all kinds of dating stories about why he loved her energy, quirkiness and spontaneous personality.

To most people she would be labeled ditzy or ADD. But to him, she was unpredictable, adventurous and she brought life to his mundane world. I love that. We should all be around others who embrace us and adore us instead of criticize and demoralize us.

Dahlia, That is how I want you to begin you’re the plan for building your wedding day and hotlicious honeymoon beach body.

Dump the Drama

Ditch the negativity and unnecessary stress creating people, conversations and relationships. A lot of the stress and drama we endure is of our own making. You can’t please everyone and you only have so much time and so much money.

Be wise, be firm and be vigilant about your own personal desires and objectives.

Stress creates a hormone called cortisol and cortisol can accelerate fat building! This is the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish. Every time you even have the slightest twinge of getting upset, do something. Breath deep, walk, sing, turn on music, pray, say an affirmation, etc. You have to have a plan in place to help you

Diffuse the stress immediately. This will be valuable for the REST of your married life,

Calories Count – So Count Your Calories

For your height and goal I want you to keep your calories around 1,200 a day.

Yes you need to count and keep track of your calories until you get an idea of what it looks like to consume that many calories. You must spread out the calories throughout the entire day so that your metabolism stays up.

Portion Practice

The normal size of your stomach is the size of your fist. It doesn’t take very much food at all to fill it. Over the years we have conditioned ourselves to eat like football players. When you go into a restaurant or fast food place to eat, they serve every person the same size meal regardless of their body size or weight. It is about commercialization and marketing value for your dollar.

That is not your fault, but you have to understand you can’t eat everything at once. Most meals you get in a restaurant can be split up into two meals. It will be easier for you to digest and more economical.

To become efficient at portion control start measuring by holding your fist over your main course and comparing it to the size of the portion.

Using your hand as your guide. Have FIVE small meals, or three meals and two snacks daily and eat only a palm size portion of protein at every meal.

Your mini-meals don’t have to be big, and they should range from 200 to 400 calories each. I encourage you to have meals that include protein in the earlier part of the day for added nutritional and energy benefits.

Eat to live, don’t live to eat and pack in calories until you’re stuffed. That is unhealthy and will destroy your weight loss efforts. Your body will expend energy in order to digest food, and as a result your metabolism will increase.

Lay Off the White Stuff

Stop already with the simple fat maxing, butt dimpling white-colored carbohydrates. Eliminate all white sugar, white potatoes, white bread, white pasta and white rice. These simple carbohydrates enter the blood stream at a fast rate and easily and quickly convert to fat. Stick with dark-colored carbs such as sweet potatoes, pumpernickel break, brown rice and fibrous fruits and vegetables like broccoli, green leafy lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, carrots, berries and oranges. This is where our life giving phytochemicals and anti-aging antioxidants come from!

Stop the Sauce

Eliminate oil, butter, sauces and dressings. Even the healthy oils are very calorie dense so beware! One tablespoon of olive oil has 15 grams of fat and 100 calories. Use a touch of water to sauté your vegetables with and add salt free spices, garlic, lemon juice and vinegar such apple cider or balsamic for flavor.

Sober Up- No alcohol

One 4 oz. glass of red wine with a light Non-pasta dinner is fine for your family party. But, no heavy drinking during this jump-start phase. Alcohol is very calorie dense and it can kill willpower and make you do and say things you will regret for a lifetime! One glass of wine a day can put on ten pounds in a year! Save it for the wedding celebration.

Move Your Body

Burn baby burn. Turn your body into a Disco Inferno. Work out every day. Dance, play, and hike. Do cardio five times per week.

Get on a treadmill, elliptical, dance class, body sculpting. Just condition yourself to work out now! It will help you reduce stress, lose weight and it will give you energy to deal with the wedding preparations that can be time consuming.

"It is a miracle that I am standing before you wearing these skimpy red Nike shorts with out a hint of self-consciousness or shame. Two years ago I would have never dreamed of this day. Healthy Recipes

Portobello Burgers

Serves: 4

Ingredients:
4 large Portobello mushrooms
2 cloves of garlic, cut into very thin slivers
1 tsp. fresh or dried rosemary
1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
3 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
Add salt and black pepper, to taste

Directions:
- Preheat broiler or grill.
- Wipe mushrooms with damp cloth and remove stems.
- Make slits in tops of caps. Stuff slivers of garlic and rosemary into slits.
- In a small bowl, whisk together oil and vinegar with salt and pepper to taste. Brush mushrooms with oil mixture.
- Place mushrooms, cap-side down, on pan and broil or grill until soft and brown, about 3 to 5 minutes per side.
