Here are some ideas to help you Quick Start your body and Mind. When you transform your thinking, you will transform your life and move into a destiny you have only fantasized about.

Think Forward

Your mind power is the second strongest power next to your Spirit. The thoughts that pass through your mind are responsible for everything that happens in your life.

Your predominant thoughts influence your behavior and attitude, which will control your actions and reactions in situations and circumstances. As you think, so shall you be and so shall you act. Think the best and highest thoughts that serve you and your dreams.

Think before you speak, Think before you act and Think before you eat. Stop and assess your thoughts, situation, mood and emotional state. Many times you eat out of frustration, fear, depression or boredom. You may not really be hungry, just seeking comfort or sense gratification by way of your taste buds.

Move Often

Dance, stretch and laugh everyday. Put on your favorite happy energy music and move like no one’s watching.

Walk briskly with great posture as much as possible throughout the day.

Park an extra block away from your destination. Walk up stairs, pulling in your abs and pushing off the steps squeezing your buns, instead of taking the elevator.

Walk and talk. When you have to call some one that you know is going to talk for twenty minutes or more, take your cell phone and talk to them while you walk. Keep your head up, keep the phone by your ear and breath deeply while walking.

It is refreshing and it will burn calories.

Eat Lean

Eat lean protein three times a day. Protein is filling and also helps preserve your muscles as you diet while also helping you burn fat. It will also help to balance your blood sugar, which manages your mood. You will have more energy and more mental clarity.

Eat foods with low glycemic indexes (GI). These are foods that break down into sugars more slowly in the body, lowering insulin levels and making fat easier to burn. There are detailed lists in the Quick Start Energy Program.

Add fruits and veggies to your diet daily. The more fruits and vegetables you eat, the less you’re likely to overeat which can help you eat less fat. Fruits and vegetables are packed with healthy phytochemicals that prevent a multitude of disease.

Use smaller plates. Smaller plates trick your eye — therefore your mind — into thinking portions are bigger and you will feel satisfied with less food.

Drink to Succeed

Drink two to four quarts of water throughout the day, everyday, seven days a week.
If you’re not drinking enough water, you may mistake thirst for hunger and get a fat building snack attack.

Reduce your alcohol consumption to special occasions. Alcoholic drinks are loaded with calories, destabilize your blood chemistry, add non-nutritive calories and can throw your body into a fat building state.

Drink calorie-free, non-carbonated beverages such as a variety of herbal healing and rejuvenating teas.

Make a commitment to start today doing the things that will bring you closer to your goals and eliminating the things that sabotage you and trap you. You have the power to do all that is in your heart, good or bad. Choose the things that create life, energy and
Greatness.

Don’t dwell on negative events or emotions for more than sixty seconds. Instantly talk to yourself with positive affirmations and look at a powerful picture or photo that makes you feel totally empowered!

Bye-Bye Thunder Thighs!!!

"It is a miracle that I am standing before you wearing these skimpy red Nike shorts with out a hint of self-consciousness or shame. Two years ago I would have never dreamed of this day. As a matter of fact, it was exactly two years ago that I found myself in a department store dressing room bare to my underwear and in shock that my once “claim to fame” once beautiful legs had gone sour---to cottage cheese thighs that is. I stood there in shock and I realized that I would probably never see my legs thin, defined, or sculpted and free from the ripples, hills and valleys that are common to legs that are a victim of cellulite. “What a mess I am”, I thought to myself and that’s when the last ounce of self-hated filled my low self-esteem cup to over-flow.

Healthy Recipe

Greek Burgers

Makes: 8 burgers

Ingredients:

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped
  • 1-1/2 cups non/lowfat yogurt
  • 1-1/2 pounds ground turkey, lean
  • 2-1/4 teaspoons feta cheese, crumbled
  • 6 pita bread loaves, cut in half
  • 1-1/2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1-1/2 red onions, sliced

Directions:

  • Combine garlic and mint in a small bowl and mash. Add yogurt, mix and set aside.
  • Combine turkey and feta cheese in a mixing bowl. Form into 8 patties and sprinkle with pepper.
  • Broil 5-10 minutes per side or until turkey is cooked through.
  • Serve in pita bread with tomatoes, onions and yogurt sauce.
