Victoria, I love your positive, yet hard-hitting advice and I need a dose of both right now.

I really want to get in shape, but I feel so overloaded with all the things I have to do. My life is jam packed with nonstop stuff. I don’t like the way I look or the way I feel. I am emotionally exhausted and I have no energy for myself. How do I get my body and my life back? I feel like I am moving fast but going nowhere. What should I do to get started? I don’t want to go through another year wearing size sloppy size16. I want my sexy six back! HELP!!

Pamela, You have the heart’s cry of the average woman today. You are burning the candle at both ends, yet you never seem to be caught up.

You are constantly busy, but do not feel very fulfilled.

You are eating on the run, but do not feel satisfied and your appetite is rarely satiated.

Pamela, your body and your life are overloaded at every level. Every challenge to your mental thoughts and body creates a demand on your adrenal glands. And the list of maladies that show up because of things like: your constant lack of sleep, skipping meals, reliance on stimulants like caffeine and over consumption of sugar and other simple carbohydrates, digestive problems, demanding children or work, financial pressures, personality conflicts, yo-yo dieting, family or relationship stress, illness or even worse, the death of a loved one.

The result is adrenal glands that are constantly over stressed which can lead to high levels of cortisol.

High Cortisol Levels are Bad News to Your Mind and Your Rear End

What is cortisol?
In its normal function, cortisol helps you meet life’s challenges by converting proteins into energy, releasing glycogen, which is energy for your brain and your cells, and it works to counteract inflammation. For a short time, that’s okay. But with sustained high levels from stress and metabolic dysfunction, cortisol gradually tears your body down.

Sustained high cortisol levels destroy healthy muscle and bone, impairs digestion which stops your body from absorbing good nutrients, slows down healing from injury or illness, suppresses healthy cell regeneration and weakens your immune system. One of the worst things it does Pamela is it screws up your metabolism and distorts your mental function.

So girl, not only do you gain weight you turn into a moody b***h! It’s not enough that no one likes being around you; it hurts even worse because you don’t even want to be around you.

Don’t stop reading yet ladies; let’s continue to take a look at your true condition.

Your metabolic rate is slow which ravages your body and you begin to prematurely age..AAAHHHHH!

Your organs are overtaxed by the extra weight

Your heart is overstressed from the lack of fitness and too much fat.

Your fat cells are increasing in size, your muscle cells are shrinking and becoming more de-conditioned which causes muscles to sag. Your behind will be around the back of your knees soon if you don’t stop this cycle today.

Your liver is toxic from the excess fat and lack of exercise, which is turning your body into a fat building machine!

When you are overstressed and under fed with real high value nutrients, which come from unprocessed whole foods, fruits, vegetables, low fat, high quality and easily absorbed vitamins and minerals.

Pamela, It’s time! You can see that this is serious and you have to do something now. You feel it in your soul and your intuition is telling you to start today getting ready for the rest of your life. Your body is a precious gift you were given and you have to do everything you possibly can to nurture it and care for it.

You would not take a precious little baby girl and start feeding her French fries, donuts, hamburgers, cheesecake and fancy high calorie coffee drinks with tons of caffeine and wine every night with her baby food.

In my eyes, you are just as special and precious as that little baby girl. Your system is just as sensitive and you are just as special. If you don’t feel that way about yourself, you need to bring your life to a screeching halt and re-evaluate who you are to YOU! If you do not treasure yourself, you will never be special enough to make the changes necessary to live a life of joy, excitement and significance.

Do something today. Decide to change and do whatever it takes to reclaim your power over food and failure. Hallelujah, it’s a new year and you get to start over and never look back.

A perfect protein for breakfast you will raise your metabolic rate and you will feel better and more empowered at mid morning than if you ate some silly simple carbohydrate?

Did you know that you can keep your metabolism up longer and take it higher if you did some resistance weight training after your cardio in the evenings? Yes!

You can do some bicep curls, lunges, tricep kickbacks and leg raises and stoke your metabolic fire to burn that dimply fat off your legs and that soft pooch off your belly. You won’t spot reduce, but you will raise your overall metabolic rate so that you burn fat faster and longer. Wooohooo, now we’re talking.

Pamela when I was heavy, I was working two jobs, going to school and starting a small business. I was so busy with my outside life that I let my inside life get totally trashed. The more out of balance my life and thinking was, the more I would over eat and the bigger and unhealthier I became. I ate myself into type two diabetes.

I got up every day and almost fed my poor body to death by creating sickness and disease. I was a big hot mess! I thought I was so smart and so up on my game because I was making money, helping other people and

Studying like a maniac with a bag of potato chips by my side.

I would sit with a bag of DOUBLE STUFFED Oreos and a quart of soft ice cream and honey I would twist, lick and dip for days. You know; you twist the Oreo cookie open, lick the lard and sugar filling out and then dip the cookie in the soft ice cream. Excuse me… for a minute; I am getting nauseous just writing about it. I was so stressed that I would do what I called my sugar therapy.

I had to change or I was going to end up in the hospital with a bunch of loser friends telling me to hang in there as they brought me a big batch of cookies to my hospital room! How do I know? Because I had my appendix out and NOT ONE so-called friend came to see me. It was radical surgery so I lay in that hospital bed for an entire week with my stomach butchered up by a hack surgeon and NOT ONE even called.

I remember the pain of the silence, the hours of loneliness and the thought of never being able to wear a little bikini because of a massive scar I had. Can you see how I was having my little pity party and poor me I am a victim dance.

Get Movin..
I got over it and I got over them. You can too. I had to find the right people to hang out with and then I had to change what I ate, what I thought and what activity I engaged in. I had to start to move with energy and hang out with winners who were not focused on desserts and hating to exercise. When it comes to fat, you have to move it to lose it.

Dance, Train and Smile
I started dancing more, smiling and laughing more, training more, eating the perfect foods and changing my thoughts. That’s why I love my quick start energy program, it’s not just about food, it’s about life, it’ not just about no sugar, it’s about what is the absolute best choice I can make to today so that I can have the best year ever.

Hello Victoria,
I have been a big fan of yours from the times that you had the body shoppe on fit tv. I used to do the routines before going to an aerobics class and I loved your positive attitude, your passion about fitness, and your precise descriptions of the exercises. I felt like I was learning from you, but never felt as if I was being talked down to at any time. I also loved the positivity in your show. Everybody in the show looked like they were having fun, and I brought that feeling with me during my own fitness routine.I became very fit and lost a great deal of weight, but later I was in law school and working on a masters degree at the same time while trying to maintain a demanding husband and barely slept, let alone worked out or ate things that were useful to my body. After I graduated, I am taking some time off to get healthy again and dumped the bossy husband. I am working out with a trainer, and I do your tapes at home as well, and I have to say that you provide so much inspiration to me because I feel that I can get healthy and move regardless of the weight that I gained and I can have fun and can be positive while I do it.
