Save Me From Myself!


Hi Victoria, I am in immediate need of help. I hurt myself and I stopped everything. I am fine now, but lazy. I get up every day wanting to work on my body but I get busy and never get to it. I get angry with myself for not exercising and eating right.

Days turned into weeks and now my arms are so flabby that I hide them.
I want to have pretty arms and stop beating myself up.

Can you help me? I don’t like myself and I want to be saved from beating myself up. Please show me an example of what you do for motivation and for your arms? I like the shape of your arms, they are toned by not huge muscles.

One of my favorite College Basketball teams to watch is Duke University Under the guidance of Coach Krzyzewski., aka Coach K. He is not only phenomenal coach on and off the court Coach K. sees himself as a family man first, a teacher second and a basketball coach third. Coach K is a walking legend when it comes to instilling motivation in others.

Here’s a favorite quote of his that I use and follow!

“With accomplishments comes confidence and with confidence comes belief. It has to be in that order”

We have been taught to just believe. Belief can become stronger when you have measurable results.

Do something, see it working and get motivated to stay with it. That is combining belief with faith in action.

I had the privilege of training and working with one of Coach K’s protégée’s, Mike Dunleavey Jr. Mike is driven dedicated and forever working with one objective in mind… Improvement.

He is currently on the roster for the NBA Indiana Pacers. He was the one of their top players last season. He is out right now recovering from knee surgery to repair a torn ACL on his right knee. He is going to come back even stronger now. He will not let his past injuries stop him from getting back in the game when he is well.

As you work towards your ultimate goal, you must keep your mind focused on your objective and take action.

Mike is now rehabbing his knee and keeping his mind on his goal. When Mike hits the floor again on game day, everything else must give way to the objective: Winning.

You must treat your commitment to your body and your goal the same way.
You may not have thousands of people watching when you are in your zone of training, but that doesn't mean your performance is less important. Success is not about whose watching, it's about how you're improving.

The best way to get back into your training is to work on it daily. I have written out the plans for shaping and toning your thighs in my Thin Thighs Program, so here is an example of what I do when I want to Quick Start to toning up a body part.

When it comes to shaping and sculpting arms, here’s what I do for my biceps and triceps.

It’s the philosophy that Madonna’s Trainer uses also. Her arms are definitely sculpted! Do this program and your arms will be tight and toned too!

Quick Start Arm Sculpting Program

* Monday
- Before 45 minute Cardio - Train Biceps 2 different exercises, 2 sets of 15 reps each.

* Tuesday
- Before 50 minute Cardio Train Triceps 3 different exercises 3 sets of 15 reps

* Wednesday
- Long Cardio day 45-60 minutes

* Thursday
(Before your Cardio) - Train Biceps 2 different exercises, 2 sets of 15 reps each

* Friday
(Before 45 minute Cardio) - Train Triceps 3 different exercises 3 sets of 15 reps

* Saturday
- Long Cardio 60 minutes

* Sunday
- Day off. Rest, relax, have fun, get re-energized to continue forward the following week.

Just get going. Just start today. Then continue day by day to work towards your goal. Give no energy to doubt, past problems or perceived failures.

Focus on objective and nothing else. Work towards incremental improvement.

Don't give up! Stay in the game.

Hello Victoria,
I have been a big fan of yours from the times that you had the body shoppe on fit tv. I used to do the routines before going to an aerobics class and I loved your positive attitude, your passion about fitness, and your precise descriptions of the exercises. I felt like I was learning from you, but never felt as if I was being talked down to at any time. I also loved the positivity in your show. Everybody in the show looked like they were having fun, and I brought that feeling with me during my own fitness routine.I became very fit and lost a great deal of weight, but later I was in law school and working on a masters degree at the same time while trying to maintain a demanding husband and barely slept, let alone worked out or ate things that were useful to my body. After I graduated, I am taking some time off to get healthy again and dumped the bossy husband. I am working out with a trainer, and I do your tapes at home as well, and I have to say that you provide so much inspiration to me because I feel that I can get healthy and move regardless of the weight that I gained and I can have fun and can be positive while I do it.
