Spring Forward!

If you are living in the past, your life is history...

Life is filled with phases, stages and seasons. Spring is a season of new beginnings. Flowers begin to bloom and fruit trees wake up from their winter slumber by covering their bare limbs with beautiful blossoms that will become healthy fruit.

Fruit = Results

What kind of fruit are you producing right now? Your thoughts, feelings, beliefs are your buds that turn into blossoms and manifest someplace in your life. The buds are originating in your spirit. Your spirit which is the core of all of your decisions and actions.

Every action you take bears fruit. Every action creates results. Are you getting the results you desire? Are you as fit, healthy, lean, or energetic as you wish to be? Are you filled with unspeakable joy and peace that passes all natural understanding?

If not, it’s time to do some internal pruning. It’s time to clean out the basement of your spirit and get out of the darkness of weight gain, poor health, anxiety, mental and physical exhaustion.

There is no amount of blame, regrets, thinking or wishing that could change your past. You can’t change your past. That’s why they call it the past. It’s over!!

Starting today, your past is over. Close the door on things you cannot change, and move forward into your destiny.

Weekly Fit Tip

How Often to Eat

The frequency of how often we eat per day ("meal frequency") has been shown to greatly affect how fat we are. Many studies have concluded that those who eat 4-6 smaller meals per day have less body fat than those eating 2-3 meals a day, despite the fact that both groups eat about the same number of calories. Eating only 3 times a day requires us to go too long without eating. By the time lunch or dinner rolls around, we are so famished we eat anything easily available. Eating small, healthy snacks in between meals not only prevents you from gorging; it increases your metabolism and helps you feel energized and satisfied throughout the day.

Eating a large meal increases the opportunity for fat cells to extract fat from the blood and, therefore, grow bigger. Fat cells can actually adapt to a pattern of large, infrequent meals by becoming more efficient at storing fat. In addition, a 2-3 meal-a-day pattern causes the body to face long stretches without food. This eating pattern tricks the body into thinking it's in a state of starvation, initiating physiological changes that actually slow down your body's resting metabolic rate, the number of calories "burned" at rest.

This occurs because your body is trying to conserve energy and prevent starvation. A reduction in metabolic rate slows fat loss. This is another reason why traditional fad diets do not work. Our body responds to the reduction in calories as if it were starving and our metabolism slows down.

Healthy Recipe

Breakfast Sausage Casserole

This delicious egg, cheese and sausage casserole is prepared the night before.Placed in the oven early on a weekend morning;the whole family can wake up to this special treat!

  • 1 pkg. (16 oz.) fresh breakfast sausage, cooked, drained and crumbled
  • 4 cups cubed day-old bread
  • 2 cups (8 oz.) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cans (12 fl. oz. each) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
  • 10 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Ground black pepper to taste

1 Grease 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Place bread in prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Combine evaporated milk, eggs, dry mustard, onion powder and pepper in medium bowl. Pour evenly over bread and cheese. Sprinkle with sausage. Cover; refrigerate overnight.

2 Preheat oven to 325° F.

3 Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until cheese is golden brown. Cover with foil if top browns too quickly.

  • Servings: 8
  • Preparation time: 10 minutes
  • Cooking time: 1 hour
